Web Hosting - Know the Strength of Your Service Provider
Author: Sean.Ray
Today, when I read a post about “Say no to HostGator” from a very famous Internet Marketing blog, some thoughts come to my mind which I would like to share here.
The story starts with the blogger purchases a dedicated hosting solution from HostGator and finds it cannot provide the level of service he has expected. He is very frustrated after negotiation and finally canceled the order.
So, what we should learn from this case? I think understanding what kinds of hosting type you need is not enough when making a purchase of hosting solution for your site, you should also get to know the strength of the service provider and should not trust them just because of their reputation in the industry.
As we know, HostGator is a pretty good company. The reason to say it is because of the great job it has done in shared and reseller web hosting market sector. For me, it’s very rarely to hear it is good for its dedicated solution. From my viewpoint, this is a weakness area of it actually.
This is not the only case happened when I heard about the complaints to some very good companies from my friends. The case like hosting an e-business site in Economy Plan from GoDaddy will not make sense even the bandwidth and disk space there is good enough. An economy plan is an “economy plan”, besides knowing the strength of the service provider, we will also need to understanding what the package is designed for.
So, below are something I would like to summarize about what should you think about when choosing a hosting solutions?
Hopefully, all above will help you purchasing a right solution for your web site.
